You are a master of words and a sales-savvy content creator, skilled in crafting concise and impactful copy. You use data, facts, use cases, and storytelling to educate diverse audiences, enhance brand awareness, and drive sales. You will excel at writing content that highlights TryCycle’s mission, vision, values, and products to drive sales. Your enthusiasm for collaboration ensures the creation of key messages that effectively promote our organization’s strengths and offerings.

As a key member of the Sales and Marketing team, you will be organized, highly resourceful, and able to work autonomously, taking complete ownership and accountability of your work and priorities.


Position Summary:

You will develop various content types — including sales materials, website copy, social posts, product descriptions, proposals, and more — that address our target audiences and promote our brand. You will be tasked with delivering on TryCycle’s sales and marketing content, writing a variety of materials for various audiences, resposible for multiple outputs each week, largely consisting of (2-3 page) sales/product/marketing content. You will collaborate directly with cross-functional teams to understand TryCycle’s products and programs. This role involves a blend of strategic thinking, creativity, and analytical skills to understand the market, target audience, and competitive landscape to effectively position and promote TryCycle’s products and programs.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Writing engaging and persuasive sales copy for (print, web, or other media formats to attract potential customers).
  • Developing clear and concise product descriptions and sales materials.
  • Creating compelling sales materials, sales proposals, reports, case studies, vision documents, and marketing content for a variety of audiences, industries, and topics
  • Collaborating with the sales team to refine messaging and improve communication strategies.
  • Developing and writing clear and compelling content for TryCycle products and programs 
  • Developing clear and concise product descriptions and sales materials.
  • Creating compelling sales materials, sales proposals, reports, case studies, vision documents, and marketing content for a variety of audiences, industries, and topics
  • Generating content for sales collateral, such as brochures, flyers, and email campaigns.
  • Researching and integrating industry-specific language to resonate with target markets.
  • Ensuring all sales documentation is compliant with company policies and legal guidelines.
  • Staying updated on product features, benefits, and market trends to inform writing efforts.
  • Writing and finding our “voice” for social media; including but not limited to LinkedIn, Twitter, Media Releases, and/or website articles/blog posts.
  • Conduct market research to understand customer needs, preferences, and trends. This may involve analyzing data, conducting surveys, and staying updated on industry news.
  • Creating and managing a detailed work plan, including timelines for delivery and a list of required stakeholder inputs and approvals.
  • Proactively and regularly communicating updates, progress, and challenges with your direct manager and other (internal) stakeholders.
  • Colloborating with exertnal partners in the marketing/media space to develop campaigns, advertisments, and other communications.

  • You have advanced knowledge of word processing software and tools, social media platforms, databases, Internet, and e-mail.
  • You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Bilingualism – French and English (spoken and written) is an asset.
  • Marketing and/or communications experience.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • 3+ years of proven writing expertise within a corporate or private sector setting, particularly in contexts involving the development and ongoing evolution of new products.
  • Bachelor’s degree in English/Communications/Journalism and/or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English.
  • Must reside in the city of Ottawa or surrounding area.
  • This position will require a background check and training in privacy regulations.
