Position Summary:

The Qualitative Research Director will play a lead role in the management and execution of Explorer’s US & Canadian qualitative research studies. The ideal candidate is an experienced and strong Qualitative Research Manager or Director, who thrives on executing and delivering flawless qualitative research services, while simultaneously working to maintain and build strong client relationships.

What you’ll do at Explorer Research:

  • Report to Explorer’s Vice President of Qualitative Research
  • Manage assigned qualitative research projects and initiatives for Explorer Research, with a focus on assisting with the growth of Explorer’s qualitative research business and capabilities
  • Manage and complete all required parts of the research process, including client interactions, screener and discussion guide development, report writing, and presentation of results
  • Key qualitative project lead and developer of recommendations and either prepare final client reports or manage junior team members in report generation for each project
  • Manage qualitative field projects and identify key insights and implications
  • Provide guidance and training for more junior qualitative team members. Focus on improving individual team member capabilities.
  • Manage key qualitative client relationships with a focus on delivering world-class client service marked by high levels of responsiveness, accuracy, insight, urgency, attention to detail, professionalism and follow-through
  • Develop an understanding of our clients’ business issues and the industries in which they operate
  • Maintain project budgets and work with all team members to ensure that all aspects of the research study operate smoothly
  • Convey research outcomes through easy to digest, visually compelling storytelling (both verbally and in written form)
  • Travel across the US and Canada will be required for the purposes of meeting with clients, managing project field-work and delivering presentations
  • Assist the Vice President of Qualitative Research in the development of new methodologies and offerings, which Explorer Research can bring to our clients. Specifically focused on combining established qualitative practices with neuroscience and technology

Ideal Candidate has the Following Skills & Experience:

  • 4+ years of supplier side qualitative market research experience with an excellent understanding of qualitative consumer research, and research methods
  • 4+ years in CPG, Shopper marketing or Packaging experience
  • 4+ years in Qualitative research
  • 2+ years being a Moderator
  • 4+ years working with clients and relationship building
  • Process and Methodology development experience
  • Team Training and Development experience preferred
  • Data analysis and reporting experience
  • Strong qualitative research design and analytical skills
  • Ability to moderate Focus Groups, IDIs and Shop-alongs, both virtually and in-person, as well as moderate online Boards
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, strong PPT skills a must
  • Excellent customer service skills – strong written & verbal communication skills with well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Superior organizational skills, strong attention to detail & demonstrated commitment to the accuracy and completeness of information
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a strong client service orientation
  • Ability to manage complex, multi-faceted project budgets and to create, manage, and commit to a project plan, schedule and budget
  • Highly motivated, self-directed & possesses a driven personality capable of working within tight deadlines
  • Ability and willingness to occasionally work evenings and weekends when required
  • Enjoy working in a team environment
  • Minimally completed Bachelor’s Degree
