About the Role
Reporting directly to the Director of Consulting Services, you will be a hands-on leader responsible for guiding, supporting, and developing a team of Consultants and Analysts. You’ll help create an environment where people feel connected, supported, and empowered, while ensuring accountability, strong communication, and exceptional client service.
You’ll play a key role in balancing people leadership with operational execution — helping remove barriers, managing priorities, and ensuring work is delivered consistently and on time.
What You’ll Do
- Translate the Director’s strategy and priorities into clear day-to-day plans, processes, and execution
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of Consultants and Analysts by setting expectations, coaching performance, and building a positive team culture
- Conduct regular coaching and performance conversations that support growth, accountability, and development
- Build strong relationships across the team and create an environment where people feel engaged and supported
- Own team workflow by prioritizing and assigning work, tracking deliverables, and removing obstacles to ensure deadlines are met
- Build team capability by strengthening problem-solving, decision-making, and knowledge sharing
- Manage client and internal escalations while ensuring timely resolution and clear communication
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve tools, processes, and workflows
- Monitor service quality and consistency across engagements while supporting risk management and compliance
- Maintain a small client portfolio to stay connected to the client experience and model best practices
What You Bring
- Demonstrated people leadership experience with a strong focus on coaching, accountability, mentoring, and team development
- A genuine passion for helping others succeed and building high-performing teams
- Experience in Group Benefits and/or Group Retirement (5+ years) to provide context and oversight for a consulting team
- Confidence leading performance conversations and providing constructive feedback
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to connect naturally with a variety of personalities
- Confidence managing priorities, making decisions, and leading teams through complex or evolving situations
- Strong judgement and experience navigating escalations professionally
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to delegate effectively and manage competing priorities
- Active LLQP licence
- CEBS designation (completed or in progress)
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and experience working with CRM or workflow tools
